Emerging Ideas in Libraries : Negative ideas
The Library is a “stepchild” – misunderstood, under supported, and unappreciated even though the institution pays lip service to the contrary. (i.e. words don't match actions)
The Library as a building – needs cleaning, repair, or renovation
The Library’s space is too small or not adequately configured for the tasks required

These ideas match the situation in my (school) Libraries exactly! There is some comfort in knowing others share my frustration. I have tried to change the administration's misconceptions a number of times. employing various tactics, without success, over the seventeen years I have been at this school.
